DrYan’s current research interests include seafood storage and preservation, dairy product safety and quality control, and the adaptation of foodborne pathogens and spoilage organisms under environmental stresses. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as Trends in Food Science & Technology, Food Research International, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. Additionally, he serves as a young editorial board member of the journal Food Science and Human Wellness and a special issue editor of the journal Foods. He has received six project grants from government agencies and industry. His work has provided the theoretical basis and technical support for microbiological control and product development in the aquatic and dairy industries.
