Dr. Parsek received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1989. He received his PhD from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995 from the lab of Al Chakrabarty. He did a post doc in the lab of Pete Greenberg at the University of Iowa from 1995-1999. He is currently a Professor in the Microbiology Department at the University of Washington.
