Fangang Meng, Ph.D., is a professor and the head of the Department of Environmental Engineering. He serves as the deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Environmental Pollution Control and Remediation Technology and is an associate editor of the Journal of Water Process Engineering. He was recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Elsevier in 2020 and received the SCOPUS Scientific Star Silver Award in 2011. He has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (2007), the National Major Talent Project for Young Professionals (2017), the Excellent Young Scientist Fund from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2016), the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Second Prize (2019), the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Young Teacher Development Program (2016), and the Guangdong Provincial Outstanding Young Scientist Fund (2014), among other honors. His research focuses on membrane materials and processes, efficient biotransformation of pollutants, and the development of membrane-biological hybrid processes.
