Dr. J. Shezmin Zavahir Ismail was part of the pioneering group of Fungal-Bacterial Biofilm (FBB) based Biofilm biofertilizers (BFBFs) at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies in Sri Lanka, and has contributed towards the novel applications of FBBs. She has a PhD (Analytical Chemistry) from Monash University, and an MSc (Biotechnology) and BSc (Microbiology) from Bangalore University. A recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Ismail also has extensive experience in research-industry collaborations. She has authored numerous publications in high-ranking journals and delivered scientific presentations in various countries including Denmark, Italy, Germany, and India. She has a deep passion for science communication and environmental sustainability. Shezmin is currently an application Chemist at Trajan Medical and Scientific, Melbourne, Australia.
