2nd International Conference on Biofilms (ChinaBiofilms 2019) was held in South China University of Technology

October 10-13, 2019, 2^nd International Conference on Biofilms (ChinaBiofilms 2019) were held on in the International Conference Hall of Liwu Science and Technology Building, South China University of Technology. ChinaBiofilms 2019 were co-sponsored by the School of Food Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology, Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Green Processing and Product Safety of Natural Products, Engineering Research Center for Deep Processing of Starch and Vegetable Protein, Ministry of Education, and Southern University of Science and Technology School of Medicine.

The conference refers to the EuroBiofilms and ASMBiofilms patterns to highlight academic and international aspects. Professor Mark Shirtliff from the Department of Microbiological Pathology, University of Maryland, USA has been invited as the honorary chairman. ChinaBiofilms 2019 attracted more than 20 international academic authorities including Professor Tom Coenye, the chairman of EuroBiofilms. Moreover, more than 30 top domestic scholars from South China University of Technology, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Jinan University, Guangzhou Medical University, Respiratory Diseases State Key Laboratory also participated in this conference, and nearly 200 domestic and foreign scholars participated in the conference.

During the conference, a total of 8 invited lectures and 44 theme lectures were held. More than 50 academic posters focused on displaying the latest research results of microbial coatings in the fields of food safety control, clinical medicine, and environmental science and application. Experts and scholars from all over the world gathered together to discuss the future development trend based on the current frontiers of scientific research progress.

ChinaBiofilms 2019 bring together innovative academics and industrial experts in the field of biofilms and food safety control to a common forum, promote research and developmental activities in biofilms and food safety control, and promote scientific information interchange between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners working all around the world.
