Enrico Marsili
Nazarbayev University
Associate Professor, School of Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan.
Dr. Marsili has over 16 years of experience in biofilms, bioprocesses, and electrochemistry. Following his PhD in Chemical Engineering at University of Rome, Italy, he studied biofilm structure and function and contributed to develop electrochemical biofilm characterization. In 2008, he was awarded a Marie Curie Reintegration grant, and worked on biosensors development. In 2012, he moved to the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE), and established research facilities for bioelectrochemistry of biofilms. Dr. Marsili has supervised 7 post-doctoral researchers and 8 PhD students. He has published 50 papers with approximately 2500 citations. Since 2019, Dr Marsili serves as Associate Professor at Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan, where he is building a research program on biofilms, in collaboration with engineering and microbiology researchers.
